If the last story you heard was by tweet, status update, or SMS, you need this celebration of unashamedly old fashioned storytelling, featuring short true stories shared by four or five storytellers, plus a live music guest.
In this very special weekly residency, Sydney’s best storytellers are joined by a special guest lineup of the Festival’s best comedians every week to share their first hand stories in this uncensored intimate event. This is a unique opportunity for Sydney Comedy Festival audiences to experience their favourite local and international comedians sharing their first hand real life experiences in an intimate, casual setting.
Past storytellers have included a nun, a former drug addict, and an East Timorese journalist. Past stories have included first hand experiences of pilots locking themselves out of cockpits, exhuming the family pet and keeping its skull, life as a life model, being fired, addictions, and rehab to name a few. Recent notable storytellers have included actress Virginia Gay, and international comedian DeAnne Smith, as seen on Good News Week.
So join us on Saturday afternoon to witness that real life is funnier than anything that can be made up, because after all, it’s funny because it’s true.
Don’t miss the Sydney Comedy Festival debut of Sydney’s underground hit storytelling series.
